Subtitles are timed text: short caption lines, each with a start and end time, that match what is being said on screen. Typist transcribes your file with word-level timing and groups the words into short cues, then exports them as an SRT, a plain-text subtitle file any player or editor reads.
For video, only the audio track is transcribed and the picture is ignored, so resolution and frame rate do not change the captions. What sets subtitle quality is the speech itself plus how the lines are timed and split. Typist uses word-level timing to start and end each cue where the speech does, instead of guessing at fixed intervals.
