Video Response 3-How To Fix YT-DLP 403 Forbidden/Cookies Error

[0:01]Okay, so our third video response [0:03]question is for the fire lightning and [0:06]they ask, "How to bypass error? Sign in [0:09]to confirm you're not a bot. Use cookies [0:12]from the browser or cookies for the [0:14]authentication." So this error can [0:16]appear in different ways, but there's uh [0:19]one way to to solve it sometimes. So [0:21]we'll do that since that seemed to work. [0:23]So they were trying to get this video [0:25]right here. You see, if I uh take it and [0:30]I try and try to just download it to my [0:33]downloads folder, yt- DLP, throw it in [0:38]and we'll see what happens.

[0:46]It says unable to download video data. [0:48]HTTP43 forbidden. It's different from uh [0:53]different from their error, right? But [0:55]the solution that I found for it uh uh [0:58]seems to be the same. So um what we need [1:02]to get past this especially when it's [1:04]saying to sign in with cookies is you [1:06]need to get um your session data cookies [1:10]basically put it in a file and use that [1:11]with the command and that's basically [1:14]like being logged into your YouTube. [1:18]Um so yeah it just runs a command like [1:20]you're logged into YouTube basically. So [1:21]it's like authent authenticating you [1:23]into YouTube. So one way that we can get [1:25]that is we can look for the cookie [1:29]editor. If we just ex uh look for it [1:32]extension [1:35]there is this one cookie editor.com [1:38]which makes an open-source uh extension [1:40]for all the browsers. [1:43]I'll include this link but I'm currently [1:47]using Edge. So I go add it to Edge [1:50]and get the extension. [1:53]add the extension [1:57]and go ahead and just pin it so that it [2:00]stays there. So now I have to come back [2:02]to YouTube. It matters what what tab [2:04]you're on, right? And then we go to the [2:07]extension [2:09]and we want to export the cookies while [2:12]we're on the YouTube tab and signed into [2:14]it. We export it into a Netscape format [2:18]and that just copies it to the clipboard [2:20]like copy and paste, right? So now we [2:22]want to make a new file [2:26]and we'll call it cookies.ext. [2:30]Okay. And inside of here, [2:36]we're just going to want to paste that.

[2:39]And you're not going to want to share [2:42]anything any of these cookies, right? [2:44]Cuz they share the the keys basically [2:47]for your login session for YouTube. And [2:49]if you share it's like someone could log [2:50]into your account and steal your [2:52]So you don't want that. So we save that [2:55]and then we can run a different command [3:02]which is [3:05]in front of the URL we do d-cookies [3:08]and we do the name of the file which is [3:11]cookies.ext [3:13]text and this is like logging into [3:15]YouTube into our own YouTube and then [3:17]you know running it. [3:19]Then we run that [3:29]and now that downloads [3:31]this is a pretty big file so but um yeah [3:35]that's uh pretty much it. So uh yeah I [3:37]will see you in the next video.
